let allof us down. again.
New York City, June 27th, 2016 -
The United States Senate’s inaction on common sense gun legislation has left all of us more vulnerable to gun violence. New Yorkers Against Gun Violence today started broadcasting and webcasting three powerful new :30 PSAs to educate people about why owning a gun can be dangerous. These PSAs are endorsed and supported by former NYC Police Commis- sioner Ray Kelly.
Each spot focuses on a real-life gun violence situation that repeatedly results in thousands of avoidable gun deaths each year. The theme is: It’s your right to own a gun. But do you really want to?
Said Leah Gunn Barrett, NYAGV Executive Director, “Our children are being shot and killed daily. Our loved ones are being shot and killed daily. Our friends and neighbors who may be suffering from depression have easy access to guns and are killing themselves daily. Is all of this carnage acceptable? Not to us. Not to 92% of Americans.”
Former NYC police commissioner, Ray Kelly, calls the PSAs “powerful and provocative.
