This edition of the SUPGV E-News includes a breaking news story of a shooting at Johns Hopkins, an op-ed from Marian Wright Edelman and three press releases. The releases relate to illegal guns in Massachusetts, efforts to weaken the background check system in Virginia and a new study from Violence Policy Center highlighting the problem of guns and domestic violence. In addition, we have included two blogs: one from our state affiliate, Washington Ceasefire and the other from our colleague, Cathie Whittenburg.


Johns Hopkins Hospital Shooting

Paul Warren Pardus spent restless nights with his ailing mother at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and when he believed doctors had failed her, the 50-year-old shot her physician before killing his mother and himself.
